Planet of the Apes

I know I've posted on this movie and series before. The only reason why I am posting again, is because an interesting question was asked of me the other day while watching the remake. Before I get to that, let me just say I watched the original, and remake for a paper, that I have to hand in for an independent study at school.
Ok, now I will get to the question that was asked of me. That was "Why did the remake end the way it did?" Before answering that I though of two buddies of mine, and gave an answer they would give. That answer was "It's freaking Planet of the Apes, do you really need a reason?" Yes, I know my answer was a question, but it answer it. Of I get told that answer couldn't be bought at a 99 cent store, but it's just one of those answers that holds up.

Many different movie

Lately, I've been watching plenty of movies. The reason, I am doing an independent study at school and am doing the paper on remakes. IT is an interesting topic to do the paper on, but it is so tedious, to do all this work. All the movie are great, but it's like why do remakes. That is my question? It seems weird, that some movies that most of us have seen were remade. sometimes both films were great, some one was good and one was bad, or both were just bad. Hopefully people can agree with me. Well it's your choice

Halloween II vs. Halloween II

This is blog pitting Halloween II against Halloween II, which you can plainly see. I am just writing this to say that I saw Rob Zombie's version of this movie today (8/28) or yesterday if you read this after midnight. I thought this movie would be good, but it really wasn't. I just don't know what it was, but I honestly think that the story didn't make much sense. My question is this MR. Zombie: Why stray from the original story? It was fine just the way it was.

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed his other movies, but I am not talking about them right now. I am talking about his version of Halloween II compared to John Carpenter and Debra Hill's version. With Hill and Carpenter's version, they pick up where their 1978 version of Halloween ended. It picks up when Loomis played by Donald Pleasance shoots Meyers, and thinks he kills him. Rob Zombies version does not do this. This again leads to the question that I asked above. Go ahead and read it again.

The entire hour and forty-five minutes I was in there, I kept telling myself, "this isn't right, and it doesn't make sense." I will not ruin the story for those of you who haven't seen it, but trust me it doesn't make sense. All I will say is that it doesn't pick up where his remake of Halloween leaves off.

On a scale of 1-10 stars I give this 1.5 stars!

Damn it Janet

People may or may not agree with me on this, but I think that Richard O'Brien's movie, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of the greatest cult classic movies around. There are many reasons why I say this. Again, many people might not agree with me, but I am going to tell you my readers, if there are any of you, why I love this movie.
1) The story- The story in this movie might be an odd at its best, but I find it enjoyable. It tells about two kids Brad Majors (Barry Bostwick) and Janet Weiss (Susan Sarandon), who get lost after going to a wedding. While driving they make a wrong turn, and wind up by this castle, which is owned by Dr. Frank N. Furter (Tim Curry), who they find out many things about. One of the things they found about him that Furter created a man to love.
2) The Characters- Each character bought something to the story. Frank N. Furter is the gay scientist who one of the three main characters. He is the man who runs this castle that Brad and Janet come across when they get lost. Furter has a bunch of servants who work for him
3) Brad and Janet- The two kids who get lost and wind up at the castle and are trapped there. While there, they both try to find their way out, but fail miserably, until the end of the movie until they are saved. They meet every one of Furter's servants while they are in this castle.
4) Riff-Raff, Magenta, and Columbia- These three, how do I put this nicely, "freaks" who work for Frank N. Furter, help him keep, our hero and heroine, in this castle. Throughout the movie, they help out, until the very end.
5) Eddie- Is a motorcycle riding zombie, played by Meatloaf . He has a few moments in the film, but doesn't last very long, and you'll find out why.
There are many more reasons. If you'd like to find out what they are ask me.

The Real American Hero?

I just finished watching the new G.I. JOE movie The Rise of the Cobra. I am going to start off by saying that it wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible, either. I mean it could have been better if the directors and producers, put in more characters, like the ledgendary Sgt. Slaughter. Having the Sarge in the movie, would have made it even better.
No, I'm not saying that because I am a fan of the Sarge, but come on, that's who made GI JOE. Honestly, I feel like having the Sarge in there, could have worked better than having Hawk run everything. To me this would have been great, because in the cartoon world of the JOE's the Sarge had a way of running everything.
I honestly would have made the world of the Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity a better feel
One question if they are the American Hero, why did they save Russia? If you know, tell me, because I want to know, because knowing is half the battle.

The Breakfast Club

When thinking about the 1980s one of the first movies I think of is John Hughes' The Breakfast Club. Many people may or may not do the same, but I know I do.In a way what I think Hughes is trying to do is show us that we're all one of or all of these five people.
In a way, I have to agree, that we are all an athlete, a basket case, a princess, a criminal and a brain. We are not these people in every sense of the word, but, we in a way are. I say that, because that's the groups people in high school fit into, whether or not they like it.
I also feel that Hughes is trying to tell us, that if we look inside ourselves we can find out who we really are, and we can connect and become friends with anyone if we choose to. We may not have to like someone but we can make an attempt to be like these people and get along and get to know people.

Spike Lee says that "She's Gotta Have It."

Just recently, I watched the Spike Lee movie She's Gotta Have It. The movie follows the character of Nola Darling, who has to have it. by "it" you know what I mean. The movie follows Nola's troubles of which man, Mars, Jamie, or Greer. Lee allows us to follow the troubles of Nola's story, because in a way he wants us to see that she has a problem, and she either needs to fix it or have something bad happen to her.
While watching this, I've noticed the way Lee uses certain camera movements and lighting choices to make the movie work. It makes you really feel that you are those characters, you are on that set, and you want to really want to be part of that story. I honestly think that Spike Lee does this really well. Lee draws you into the story by doing this, so that way you can see and feel what he was going through and feeling while he was writing and making this movie.
I honestly don't know what caused Lee to write a movie about a female sex addict, but the story was interesting. It really makes you think about what people are really like in the real world. What I think Lee is trying to say is watch out who you know, because they might not be who you think they are.

I met the Spartans....

And I was deeply disappointed. I thought it was going to be funny, but it really wasn't. I mean Don't get me wrong I liked Epic Movie, and Date Movie, but this one not so much. I honestly don't know what it was. I usually love spoof movies, (i.e. Spaceballs), but I just couldn't get into this. Maybe I'm getting old, maybe I'm losing my sense of humor, maybe my humor is changing. I really cannot say.
Yeah, people will look at me as being old, which I might be, but I guess, there is the fact that, it is very hard to make me laugh. I guess that's because of Kevin Smith, and his ever so smart humor, from Clerks on. Now that I look at it, that is a big reason why, but I guess after you're trained to laugh at one thing, you wouldn't laugh at something else unless you turn it in to something smart.
Getting Back to Meet the Spartans, I just didn't think that it was funny. I guess it wasn't written well enough to get me to laugh loud and obnoxiously, but it happens sometimes.

Animals as characters in movies

How many times do you see an animal as a main character, or a character that the story is focused on? Answer, not to many. Some of the very few films that do that are Jurassic Park, Howard the Duck, and The Jungle book, come to my mind right away. Why? I can't really say. It's just one of these weird things that I think of while being a film student. Is it weird to everyone else? Yes. Do people think that I am weird for thinking about it? Yes. But ya know what? No one else thinks about it.
This is one of those topics that can come up between myself and other film students. The reason that it does, is because we have run out of other things to talk about. It does seem weird to everyone else, but we enjoy it because, again how often do you see this, or how many times do you get to talk about what the animals represent instead of people.
Now when you readers (if there are any of you), who will read this, will start to think about this now. Don't get me wrong it seems logic to think about this, if you must. In the words of NIKE, "Just do it!"

FanBoys

Yesterday, I had watched the comedy film FanBoys. To me it was a very funny movie. I am not being Biased because I know the guy Dan Pulick who came up with the story and worked on some of the script.
I honestly thought the story was good. The first reason why is because, FanBoys proves to us that all of love something from our childhood, whether or not we admit it. Sometime if we love something enough we should go for it, even if we fail.
Another reason why I liked this film is because it teaches us that sometimes we need to reconnect with people and places that we lost connections to while trying to grow up and move out into the real world.
These are two of the many things that I learned from this movie, and hope that people can learn the same things whether or not they enjoy FanBoys."

1980s movies

Yeah, I know movies from the ‘80s are corny, and maybe dumb to kids now a days. But, to tell you the truth they don’t know what they’re missing. Yeah, these movies may have bad stories, characters a much more working against them, but it happens. How do I say this? Being a film student, I feel that kids born in the 1990s should really watch movies from the 1980s. Yeah, they’ll think they’re weird, but it will bring a form of entertainment to everyone. I think it will show them that not all blockbusters had CGI, special effects, and sharks with laser beams attached to the tops of their frickin’ heads.
I know this may make oldity (As someone nicely put it), kick in, but what else can I say?
The reason I bring this up is because I am watching the 1980s classic Adventures in Babysitting. It got me to think about how 1980s movie can and are better than a lot of other movies that have come out in the last ten to fifteen years. No, I’m not saying that ‘90s movies are bad, some are and some aren’t, but we can’t fix that.
Do I expect everyone to agree with me on this? No! But I know you’ll to the death my right to say it. Agree if you want, disagree if you have to, but just remember on things.
Balls in your mouth, bust if ya must!!

Movies and Summer

I know the summer is coming and the blockbusters are making their way into the theaters, but are all of these movies going to be blockbuster? Some yes, some maybe, and some absolutely not. The reason why I say this is because all of these movies get hyped up for release and people go and spend their twelve dollars on a tickets and either really like the movie, or be totally devastated by it.

Continuing on with this topic of discussion, which usually ends with me arguing with someone about what will be a good summer blockbuster, people always find out that I am right, but won’t tell me. I bring this up because I always have these coital debates with people at work. Of course, they choose not to believe me when I tell them, so I let then suffer. I tell them, “Oh______(whoever it is), don’t see that movie. It’s going to be bad.” What happens, they see it, they waste their money, and then they tell me, “you’re the film student, why didn’t you tell me?” I did but they didn’t listen. This happens every year when the summer blockbusters come out.

What I’m really trying to get at is why wouldn’t you listen to the FILM STUDENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? Just curious? So guess what? I’ll just let you waste your money on shitty movies.

Death To Woody Allen Films

I guess the main reason I am writing this blog, is for my great hatred and dislike of Woody Allen movies. People may ask me why I strongly dislike Mr. Allen and his film, and I tell them as nicley as possible "He makes me feel like my brain is leaking out of my ears." I am not saying they have to like my favorite director Kevin Smith, but at least he has some humor to him.
Woody Allen's movies take what feels like forever, forever, FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know people may like his films, but to me they are worse than getting kicked in the nut sack, and that is pretty painful.
All I am saying is people wake up and smell the coffee, Allen is possibly one of the worst filmmakers ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who are these "Mystery Men?"

They are a group of people trying to save the world, when the super heroes we count on aren’t there. These people are a fork-wielding hero known as the Blue Raja, The Bowler, who throws a bowling ball with her dead father’s skull in it, a “gas specialist,” known as the Spleen, an enraged man known as Mr. Furious, The Shoveler, who does damage with hit shovel, and the Invisible Kid.

They are out to save the world, after Cassanova, and his Disco Boys killed Captain Amazing. Nobody believes that they could do it, but they prove them wrong. With a little hard work, and learning how to use their weapons correctly, they become the ultimate fighting team.

Yes, you know that they are going to prevail in the end, but it’s like you want everything to be easy for them, even though you know it won’t be. I have to say that after seeing this movie for the first time in 10 years, I enjoyed it. It made me laugh in some spots, but this made me wonder why I didn’t like it in the first place.

On a scale of 1-10, I’ll give it an 8 ½ stars!

Super Hero Movies

Super hero movies are pretty cool, if you think about it. I know everyone love the Spiderman, Superman, Ironman, Incredible Hulk movies. I agree they are good, but one movie that I will give a review of, when I am done watching it is Mystery Men. For those of you who don't know, that stars Ben Stiller, Janeane Garafalo, William H. Macy, Kel Mitchell (Keenan and Kel Fame), Paul Rubens (Pee-wee Herman Fame), and many more. I honestly think that think that is is better than a lot of other super hero movies, because, to me it allows us to see the uprising of smaller unknown heroes.
People may look at me like I am crazy, but I think this is true. It has been about 10 years since I've seen Mystery Men, ehich came out during my junior year of High school (which would make me old by some peoples standards). I will finish watching it and let everyone know what I think, and wether or not there should be a sequel, even though it is 10 years later.
Sure, people are saying I am crazy for saying that, but guess what, I don't care.

Remakes.

I hate it when I have conversations about remakes. People who I know and work with will tell me "Oh this movie is good!" They get mad at me when I tell them "Oh I saw this movie when it was.." Why because I am telling you that you have no idea what you mean.
An example of this when I was talking to one girl about I Am Legend. She told me it was a good movie and that I should go and see it. I told her I did see when it was first released as the Last Man on Earth Starring Vincent Price. I also told her that I also told her I saw it the second time when it was released as the Omega Man, starring Charlton Heston.
She gets mad at me and tells me that I'm being a jerk, and I was like why? Is it because I told you don't listen to the film student!!

Random post

Right now there aren't too many good movies out there. What I mean is, there are horrible movies, which were funny when I saw them when I was twelve, for example this new movie with Seth Rogen. You know, this one were he is a mall cop. The fat guy already did that was from King of Queens. This movie was similar to something I saw when I was twelve. Here’s an example it’s not a great one, but Liar, Liar starring Jim Carrey. Same movie, different jobs same outcome. A guy, who hates his job, makes fun of it and the possibility of things working out in the end.

I bring this up because it happens, and when I tell people, “Oh, I saw this movie when it was….” They get mad at me. For example, this one girl I work with tells me I am Legend was a good movie, I told her “it was better the first time I saw it as The Last Man on Earth.” She then gets mad at me and I tell her “it also better the second time when I saw it as the remake Omega Man.” She gets mad at me even more. I know it’s annoying that I do this, but I am trying to educate people on film and movies a bit, before they say some jackass-y movie is good.

Another example of a movie that is supposed to be good is Watchmen, nope, no way, no how, saw this a long time ago when it was called Masters of the Universe. Sorry folks, but as a film major, I can tell simply by the commercials that something is good, and Watchmen wasn’t. For me sitting through a bad movie like this one, which I didn’t, The Breakup, or Deconstructing Harry is like getting kicked in the no-no parts over and over.

One other thing on this, I hate people tell me oh some movie is going to be good, I tell them it’s not, they don’t listen, go out see it and waste there money. The best this is afterwards they come back and tell me it’s my fault they saw a bad movie. Bullshit! Pardon my French; you have a mind of your own to either see the movie, or listen to a guy who knows movies.

A long time since the last post

The last time that I posted anything, was back after I finished watching The Wrestler. The only movie I have seen in the last month or so was Friday the 13th and that wasn't even good enough to post anything on, which is why I didnt bother doing so. The next movie I see, I will post something then.

The Wrestler

The Wrestler is an awesome movie, about an old wrestler who is trying to make a comeback after 20 years. The movie stars Mickey Rourke, and Marisa Tomei. The Wrestler follows the career and life of wrestler Randy "The Ram" Robinson. Along the way he tries to continue wrestling while many different things happen to him, like he tries to start over with his daughter, falls in love with Marisa Tomei's character Cassidy. There are many other things that happen throughout the movie, but I am not going to say anything, because I don't want to ruin the movie for the people who haven't seen it.
I really have to say that this is a great movie, for many reasons. The first reason why I honestly thought it was great, was because of the story. The story was great because you felt Randy's struggle. You did, you felt his struggle that Randy was going through to make it back to the big time even though it was going through the indies.
There are many other reason is how Randy fights the struggle to win back the hearts of the fan and the audience. Which might I add he does.
I will give this movie a 10 out of 10 on the star scale. Why? Because that's how much I enjoyed the movie!

Get your stinking paws off me you damn dirty apes

I truly believe that people don't get the greatness of the Planet of the Apes Series. It is one of those series of movies that are so not to say bad, but badly acted, which is what makes it great. Everything being over acted also makes it great as well.
Speaking of over acting, Charlton Heston's over acting also makes this series of movies great.
One thing that makes me crack up with this is the story that was written thought this is what the future would be like, even though it isn't.
These are the things that make this series of movie great for me no matter what anyone says!!!

FanBoys coming to a theater near you on Feb. 6

Fan Boys is a movie coming to a theater near you on Februray 6, 2009. It is a movie about a group of friends that break into Skywalker Ranch and try to steal the Star Wars stuff that is there. Right now, that is all I know, other than who worte the story. The person who came up with and/or wrote the story is Dan Pulick. There are some guest stars in the movie, such as Jay Mewes, Kevin Smith, and Captian James Tiberius Kirk, William Shattner.

1-1-09 First blog of the New Year

This is my first blog of the New Year, and I am going to write about a few of the movies that I have received on DVD. One of them that I enjoyed was The Life and Times of Mr. Perfect. This tells about one of the greatest wrestlers of the 1980s early 1990s. This DVD tells about how he changed the world of wrestling, and how he changed people's life before his untimely death.
Another DVD that I watched was The Most Powerful Families in Wrestling. This one is self explanatory. so I don't think that I need to go into any details about that. It basically tells how they changed the world of wrestling.
Summer of Sam was another great movie that I had just finished watching on DVD. This is Spike Lee's depiction of 1977 known as the Summer of Sam. It tells the story about what happened when killer David Berkowitz, went around the five Burroughs killing brunettes. Throughout the movie Lee does two things. Number one is that Lee makes us feel like we are in 1977, and number two, he follows them main character of Vinny played by John Laguizamo. Lee also shows us people's reactions, and different ways people thought about who the killer was.
All of these were great so watch

Raging Bull

About two weeks ago I watched one of the greatest movies of all time. That movie Raging Bull. This is the story of boxing great Jake Lamotta. It is the greatest boxing movie of all time. Not to put down Ali, but no boxing movie can stand up to this movie. No matter what anyone says, this movie shows the rise and fall of a boxing great. This also show what can happen to anyone in life, famous or not.

Out of 10 stars it gets 10

DP, Editor, Looks like you've got you shit covered

Today November 2, 2008, I saw Kevin Smith's new movie Zack and Miri Make a Porno. It was a very entertaining movie. I am not saying this because I am a huge Kevin Smith fan. It was one of those movies that I laugh all the way through, even if other people weren't laughing. The same thing had happend with my friend Andrea who had went with me. Some times it felt like people were looking at us if we were crazy, when we the only two laughing.
A little back story. This is about two friends Zack and Miri, who are about to loose their apartment because they didn't pay any bills. The reason, really bad jobs. So after going to their 10 year high school reunion, they realize that they are worse off than anyone else. Their reason to get money back, they decide to make a porno. They go through the process of writing scripts, their first one was entitled Star Whores, and the second one that works out for them.
As part of the process they have to ask their friend Delaney to give them the money and make him a producer on the project, he decides to do it. This works out for them.
There are two people that were in Zack and Miri, that had gotten me to laugh, and of course they are Jason Mewes (Jay of Jay and Silent Bob Fame), and Jeff Anderson (Randall of Clerks fame). These two were the funniest in the cast.

Out of 10 stars I give it 10

The View Askewniverse

I know it's been a long time since the last blog, that I wrote. This time I am going to write about something that I have not written about before, and that is The View Askewinverse. For those of you asking, what is the View Askewniverse, it is the universe, surrounding Kevin Smith's Production company View Askew. The company is called View Askew for a reason, and that reason is that your view is askewed when you watch one of Smith's movie. It is askew, whether it be good or bad, that is what he wants you to happen.
For those of you who don't know the movies that are part of this universe are Clerks, Mallrats,Drawing Flies, Chasing Amy, Vulgar, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,Jersey Girl, Clerks II, and as of Friday, Zack and Miri Make a Porno. A majority of these films have the reoccurring characters, such as Jay and Silent Bob. The Only ones that so not are Drawing Flies, Vulgar, and Zack and Miri.
I find these movies made by Smith and company to be a great set of movies. I know there are people who disagree with me, but that is their opinion, and I'll respect that.

Movies from our past

I've realized that most people remember things from their childhood, For me one movie or character that stands out are the Ernest P. Worrell movies. the reason why I remember these is because they made you feel like these things that happen, could happen to you. Maybe that is just me, but it is true.
There are a couple of things that you knew were always going to happen with the Ernest movie: 1. A story that turns out worse than normal. 2. Ernest was going to talk to his friend Vern who you never saw. 3. Jim Varney (Ernest) was going to play 12 characters, and 4. it works out in the end with a few bumps and bruises.
There is one question that I wanted answered, but I think I have one. The question is: why don't we ever see Vern? The answer, we are Vern!

Movies from our Childhoods

I just wanted to let all readers know that I will soon be writing about a movie from my childhood. It is a movie that I love. It involves something that's yellow, a children's television show, and something that's eight feet tall. It also includes some "grouchy things if you catch my drift.

A Clockwork Orange

A Clockwork Orange. What can we say about this film by Stanley Kubrick. It is one of those movies that makes you feel like you are tripping on acid, LSD, or some other mind altering drug.
This movie tells the story of a hooligan, or a gangsta (by today's standards), named Alex. The movie tells about his trials and tribulations of his life in England. It also tells how his life changes because he spent time in jail. While Alex was in jail, he would volunteer to go through this "life altering" correction, which would allow his to become a non violent person. After that everything went down hill. On a scale of 1-10, I'll give this movie a 8.75

Juno, this movie was decent

Just recently I had watched the movie Juno, which is a movie about a teenage girl named Juno who gets pregnant by her friend/boyfriend Paulie Bleeker. After she finds out Juno decides to give the baby up to a family that she finds in a newspaper. Juno decides to do this because she doesn't feel that she can take of the baby and she doesn't want to get an abortion.
While watching this movie it doesn't look like it is going to work out, but in a what is some what of a "story-book 'Cinderella'" ending everything works out and.... I'm not going to say anything else because I don't want to ruin the ending for people who haven't seen this movie yet.
On a scale of one to ten I give this movie an 8

It hurts getting hit in The Balls of Fury

Just recently I had watched the ping pong movie Balls of Fury. Now don't get me wrong, it wasn't a great movie, but it had its moments. It was a hell of a lot funnier to me than, Walk Hard. maybe this is just me, or maybe it is the fact that Christopher Walken saved this movie from being a flop of a movie. I guess being a film major, I see things about movies a lot differently than everyone else. Agree with me about my opinion of this movie being ok and not being the greatest, or not, I really don't care!

Walking Hard because we need Cox; Dewey Cox that is

Many people told the movie Walk Hard:The Dewey Cox Story was very, very good. They also told me it was funny, and that it would make me laugh. I totally disagree. IT was not very, very funny, and it did not make me laugh. I was waiting 90 mins. for something to laugh at, but never found it. I am sorry to disappoint the many people that told me this John C. Reilly movie was funny. I did not find any of the movie funny at all. to me it was a really bad "after school special," for those of you who remember those. I know most of you don't, but trust me on this one, I've seen worse movie (i.e. Deconstructing Harry) that were better that this.
Hate me all you want for saying this, but this is how I totally truly feel about this movie and I will also continue to feel like this.

The very special Feb. 29th movie post

Honestly, to tell you the truth I am writing this movie blog today, because leap years happen once every four years, yeah, yeah, I know, thanks for pointing that out Captain Obvious. Just writing this to let people know that I have hit a milestone with the DVDs. Now here's where you guys reading this, and that's probably very few of you, because I can hear the crickets chirping.But for those of you who are reading, I am writing because The milestone, which I'll get to in a minute or so, comes on this Feb. 29, which happens once every four years. Ok, now to get to the milestone, 400 DVDs. That is all

In the Valley of Elah

This was a very interesting movie that starred Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron. This is about a soldier named Mike Deerfield, whose father Henry (played by Jones) is trying to find him after he comes back from Iraq and goes AWOL.
Henry finds out that his son has gone AWOL when the base calls the home to look for him. Henry takes his case to the police, but is told that he has to go to the military police, but wants the state police to take care of it. The reason for it is because he is a former army man and knows how they will work.
Henry forces his way into helping the police find his son and find out what happened; and also find out who did it. This happens the entire movie which was interesting, because it had twists and turns the entire time, and makes you think what happened, who did it, and what certain things could mean when the characters see them and are trying to go after the attackers. This movie will make you think. I want you to go see this movie.

The Simpsonos Movie, Casino, The Weird Al show, and Halloween (2007)

These are some of the other movies, that I have received as Christmas presents and watched since obtaining them. They all have their moments that make them really, really good movies. I enjoyed every single one of them. This isn't going to be one of those blogs that drags on about them.
First was the Simpson's Movie. This movie was more entertaining the second time around when I saw it on DVD. It seemed like the moments that weren't funny in the theater, were funnier on DVD. Why does that always happen? One thing that was funny on the DVD, but not in the theater was the whole "Spider Pig/Harry Plopper" thing. I think that is weird this time around. This movie was very good. This time it gets a 6 out of 10.
Casino; what can I say about that. Awesome movie, with Joe Pesci, Al Pacino, and Sharon Stone. It is about a criminal/gangster/mob guy, who is running a respectable casino in Vegas of all places. The only thing is that he is running it without the proper papers that he needs, and gets caught. In that process, Ace's wife, played by Sharon Stone is stealing his money to give it to someone else. In the end everything is made right, and Joe Pesci's character of Nicky is killed off.
The Weird Al Show was extremely hysterical from beginning to end. I loved each and every moment of it. There is no other to describe it, other than "Weird," if you will.There were such other participants on the show such as John Tesh, Ron Propeil, Tony Little, Victoria Jackson, The BareNaked Ladies, The Hooded Avenger, and Harvey The Wonder Hamster.
The 2007 Version of Halloween. Way different from the original, but it wasn't horrible. It made you think when you were watching it. It was way out there, as was any Rob Zombie movie. What Can I say?

Warriors Come Out and Play!!!

The Warriors. What can I say about The Warriors? It is a very interesting movie, about a gang called the Warriors who have to battle to get back to their home turf in Coney Island. The thing that makes it hard for them to do this is that Luther, a member of another gang shoots Cyrus, the ultimate gang leader, and blames it on The Warriors. A call goes out over the radio, and every gang is out to get them. While in the process Swan who becomes the new leader of the Warrior, get a girl, Mercy, to start tagging along with him.
This movie showed the struggle of what happens when someone is challenged, and they have to defend themselves, and make it back to their "turf" to be safe. It also shows what happens what happens when you have friends to help you defend yourself. What else more do you need in a movie?
This movie was totally awesome. The entire time I knew that they were going to make it, but I wanted to see if they would. Out of a possible 10 stars I give it 9 7/8

sequles

You ever notice in the movie world how some sequels are horrible even though the originals are great. One movie that falls into this category is The Sandlot.
The Sandlot is a great movie, directed by Mickey David Evans, the its sequel The Sandlot 2 is horrible. It is a cheap rip-off the original. The only difference in the movie is that a girl becomes one of the main characters. No, I am not saying that anything is wrong with that, but again this is a rip-off of the original.

BARENAKED IN AMERICA

No, it's not what you think. No, it's not an adult film. Let me tell you this. Think of a band who's name has the words bare and naked in it. That's right it's a documentary about the Barenaked Ladies. It was directed by their fellow Canadian countryman Jason Priestly (Beverly Hills 90210 fame). He did this documentary to show the trials, tribulations, failures, and the successes of the Canadian band the Barenaked Ladies. It tells their trips from childhood to adult and the previous things mentioned. Priestly does a good job at showing how five from Canada can push themselves to succeed. Yes, they've had some set backs, like having one member of the band go into the hospital, because of Lukiema, and making his way back to the band.
This also tells how they all wound up meeting and how and why they decided to form a band called The Barenaked Ladies. One interesting fact that I learned while watching this was they got kicked off a Canadian music festival tour because of their name. The mayor of Toronto thought that they were naked women dancing and singing and told them they were not able to perform.

20+1+2=23, 8+6+6+3=23,

The Number 23 is a mystery movie starring Jim Carrey. It was a very interesting movie about how everything adds up to the number 23. This all starts when Carrey's character Walter reads a book called The Number 23. It tells a story about a kid named Fingerling who becomes a detective. He finds out that the lady who kills herself has a name that comes down to the number 23. I am not going to tell you how or why, except that it does. The book in the movie is written by someone named "Topsy Krett." That's top secret for those who don't get it. All in all The Number 23 was alot better than I thought it was going to be. This is all that I am going to tell you for now. Watch the rest and tell me what you think!!!!!!!!

Donnie Darko is a very interesting movie, that not a lot of people know about. It is about a kid, of course named Donnie Darko, who has mental problems. Through out the entire movie we follow the progress of what happens to Donnie, while he is in school home and whatever else he does. We follow Donnie throughout the 28 days that this movie takes place. In those 28 days many different things happen to him. He meets a girl named Gretchen; who becomes his girlfriend, exposes a motivational speaker who has child porn in his basement, and we meet his imaginary friend Frank The Bunny!

I know what you are thinking "Frank the Bunny?" I am not going to mention anymore about that character, so what I am trying to say is watch the movie and find out what I am talking about.
There are two things that stick out from this movie and they are; "...You can go suck a fuck." and the second thing is "What are Feces? Baby mice!"
My words of advice go see Donnie Darko!

So many movies, so much crap.

Movies today, what can I say about them? There are plenty of things that I can say, whether or not it may be good or bad from my point of view compared to the movies that were around from when I was a wee lad, not that I was ever wee. The first thing I have to say is that most movies today loads of crap and are stupid. These movies that are supposed to be funny, wore themselves out after my freshman year of high school. I mean they would be even better if Chris Farley was still alive and teamed up with David Spade. Hell they would be funny if Phil Hartman was still alive as well. I know for many people do not find them funny, but they made me laugh my fat backside off back in the day.
The reason why I think most of the movies today are crap, is because they rip off many different movies that were done by Farley, Spade, and Mike Meyers, Dana Carvey and many different members of the SNL cast of the early to mid-80s to early 90s.
I know many people might not agree with this, but I don't really care about what they think. So, all in all, they should try and see things my way for a change.

Bigfoot, Pot, & Camping

These are three main topics in the movie Drawing Flies. This is one of the movies to be released by View askew Production. It is shot in black and white, which makes it more interesting to me. Drawing Flies stars Jason Lee as Donner, and Jason Mewes as Az. It tells the story of the two of them and their roommates.
How do Bigfoot, Pot, & Camping come into play? Bigfoot comes into play, because Donner watches an episode of the Twilight Zone, which makes a mention to bigfoot, and this is where the camping comes into play in the movie. It comes into play because Donner (Lee) cons everyone to go so he could find Bigfoot. Camping also comes into play because, Donner, Az, four of their roommates, didn't get their welfare checks that day. Since Donner saw that one episode, he decides that he wants to go find Bigfoot, and cons his roommates to go because his uncle has "a cabin in the woods." They start smoking pot on the trip so that ay they do not get bored on the trip with Donner.
I'll leave the ending out, but one thing this movie teaches us is: "A monster is a terrible thing to waste!"

Masters of the Universe

Yes, I know that its been a while since I've last posted a blog entry. The last movie that I wound up watching was Masters of the Universe. This movie is an old 1980s movie that is so horrible, that it is great in a sense. There are many things that make this movie great. Don't get me wrong, there are better movies out there than this, but this movie reminds me of my childhood.
Let me ask you this. How many times do you get to see Dolph Lundgren run around in a fur covered speedo, leather straps, and a cape? HUH, HUH, HUH????? Bet you don't have an answer to that now do you? There are many more reasons why I like this movie, other than it bringing back memories of childhood. I mean most of the characters from the tv show were in the movie, but there could have been more.
Again, I know that this movie is bad, but I enjoy it anyway.

Masters of the Universe

I honestly don't know how many people remember the movie Masters of the Universe starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man, the hero of the He-man cartoons. It was a live action movie from 1987. It tells the story of what happens in a dream world of Julie Winston, played by Courtney Cox (of Friends fame). It tells the story of how Gwildor has a magical key that can allow him to transport to different dimensions. To get away from Skeletor played by Frank Langella, Gwildor takes himself, He-man, Man-at-Arms, and Teela to Julies home town. By doing that they had left the universe of Etrenia. The thing is that Skeletor's hench-woman Evil-Lynn has an extra copy of Gwildor's Key.
An entire adventure takes place throughout the town and has to keep everyone and save the Sorceress. I am not going to tell you what happens, so guess what? Go find it and watch it

One set of movies that I don't get

One set of movies that I don't get or wish to understand at all are the Harry Potter movies. I mean I get it's about some magical kid named Harry Potter. The thing that I don't get is what makes it so damn great. I can understand what makes other movies so great, and those things are action, adventure, story lines, characters, and what ever else goes into making a movie. To me the Harry Potter movies are for forty year-old virgins who still live in their mom and dads basement and play D&D for like eight or nine hours at a time.
I see no point in making a series about a kid who isn't really that important. I can say this knowing that the movies that I like are not important to everyone else, but, it's like who is really into this movies of magic and mystical sages other than the forty year-old virgin who lives in the basement and plays D&D. To me these movies should stop being made along with any movie starring Vin Diesel, Jennifer Aniston, Vince Vaughn, and any other crappy actor that just happened to get lucky.
I feel that Harry Potter is a huge waste of my time and a big waste of yours. It makes me think about why movies like this are actually made. Maybe my opinion about these movies is wrong, but a lot of people have the wrong opinion about the movies that I like. Until you the "faithful" Harry Potter viewer, hell maybe even viewers out there in this world, if there are more than one of you, give the movies I like a chance, don't go ragging on me!
So what I'm trying to get at is, Harry Potter is just about as interesting as a movie starring "The Rock."

Recent movies

Recently I have seen many different movies. Most of them have left me very or somewhat disappointed with the out at the end of the movie. Some of those movies have been Hot Fuzz, and Transformers. I don't know what it was about the two of these movies that were made lately, but it is like they need to be made a little, nay a lot better. It seems like today many movies are just being made for the sole purpose of being made (i.e. Harry "fucking" Potter, or any movie that The "Crock" was in).
Movies like this that everyone goes to see, that fizzle out in a week are the dumbest things I've ever seen previews for. I don't understand why people go to see a movie with The Rock in them. To tell people the Rock isn't that good of an actor. Hell, I am sorry to say this but Jason Mewes (Jay of Jay and Silent Bob fame), is a better actor than the Rock. I am sorry to say this and burst the bubble of many people that enjoy his acting skills.
I honestly don't understand why people get pissed off at me when I tell them this, but it is the truth

The Squid and The Whale

The Squid and The Whale, is an interesting movie that was entered into a New York independent film Festivle. It tells the story of the Berkman family. The parents of the family Bernard and Joan Berkman are professional writers; who eventually get a divorce.THey wind up sharing joint custody of their two kids Walt and Frank, who Joan calls "Pickle" and "Chicken." Many strange things happen throughout the course of this movie. Later on towards the end, we find out what the title of the movie means. The oldest son Walt mentions that when him and his mom went to the Museum of Natural history he was afriad of the Display of the Squid and the Whale in the mammal room.
I enjoyed this movie, because it shows us that every single family is not normal, and they have problems. In a way it tells you to respect your family, because they are the only one that you have.

Jackass Number Two

The last movie that I wound up watching was the movie Jackass Number Two. At first, I didn't think that it would be funny at all. I was proven wrong by that, because the usual suspects of Jackass made me laught my fat backside off. One thing that got me to laugh was the "card thrower segment involving 'Wee-Man.'"
I found this movie to be funny. one a scale of 1-10 i give it an 8.

I say that because I've literally have watched every movie that I've watched and cannot write a review on every single one of them. I will work on watching new movies and writing new blog entries, but that will take time. Please be patient, because I can only watch one movie at a time.

Poolhall Junkies

The last movie that I have watched for about the 15th time is Poolhall Junkies. This movie was co-written, directed by, an produced my Mars Callahan, who plays the lead role of Johnny Dole, who is a pool hustler. The other cast members are Christopher Walken, Chazz Palmentari, Rick Schorder and Alison Eastwood. This story tells us about the world of hustling in poolhalls, and that if you get into this world, you better be careful, because you don't know who is going to screw you. It also allows us to see inside this world of what happens. One a scale of 1-10 I give it an 8

Jeepers Creepers where'd ya get those peepers

The last movie that I wound up watching was the movie Jeepers Creepers. It is a movie about two kids who are coming off on spring brak when all of a sudden they get rammed in the back of their car, then drives away. They wind up seeing the same truck down the road by an old church. Darry and his sister Trish, stop by the church after the creature pulls away in the truck that it hit them with and goes somewhere else. Darry and Trish stop by the chuch because they see this creature dump bodies down a pipe.
After a while they stop in a resteraunt and find out that this thing is following them and they have to escape. They hear this from a pyschic who tells them if they hear the song "Jeepers Creepers, where'd you get those peepers, Jeepers Creepers where'd you get those eyes?!"

Hot Fuzz

Today I went to see the Simon Pegg/Edgar Wright movie Hot Fuzz. I went to see it with my friend Rich. I was really, really into seeing this movie. I thought "hell I loved Shaun of the Dead, why won't I like this?" It was completely different from what I had thought. I was like "this movie is going to be great, Yeah Boy!" Boy was I wrong. It did not live up to its expectations. I was very Let down by this movie. I just took a guess at this being the "sophomore jinx." That is what it is, the "sophomore jinx."
Don't get me wrong Pegg and his co-star Nick Frost (who was Danny) are a great team together, and Frost did steal the show, but It just didn't work. It is kind of like making another Spice Girls movie.
On a scale of 1-10 this gets a 2!

Blades of Glory

Earlier today I saw the Jon Heder-Will Ferrell movie Blades of Glory. People who know me, know that I love seeing movies with the SNL alum in them. There are various SNL Alum I've see in movies; and they are Mike Meyers, Dana Carvey, Chris Farley, David Spade, Will Ferrell (whom I've mentioned be fore), Chris Kattan, Phil Hartman, Adam Sandler, and the list goes on.
As I've said before, I thought this was going to be a good movie that would make me laugh. Boy was I sadly Mistaken! This movie sucked worse than, how can I say this nicely, ummm a prostitute. I was and am completely let down by this movie. Only two minutes of this Movie were funny. The other 88 horrible. On a scale of 1-10 it gets a 32nd of a star

Dogma

Dogma is the movie I will be talking about now. I will get back to the other movie that I mentioned before. I just wanted to mention Kevin Smith's movie, because It is one of those movies that can poke fun at religion and get away with it. There are such things that are done; such as the giant rubber poop monster and the "Holy Bartender" joke. This movie was decently done. I like this movies because it shows me that if anyone can poke fun of religion and get away with it, it's defiantly Kevin Smith! I give this a 7 out of 10 stars.

The Texas Chainsaw Blog

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Begginning, Part 2, and part 3

The next three blogs I will write will be about Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and Parts 2 & 3. I think I might just write one really long blog about them. This is the next set of movies that will make its appearance. I might even discuss the whole TCM franchise so to speak and tell you what I think about it.
Even though this is not a major group of horror movies like Halloween or Friday the 13th it is a great set of movies with the exception of the remake; just remember I'll get in to that in the next blog. So that is what is going to happen for you my very few readers that I d have.

Stand By Me/Shaun of the Dead Blog

Yes, yes, I know. It's been two weeks since my last post about a movie. Sorry, I've just been very busy with trying to get ready for school. So I am going to do a two for one sale. You the readers of my blog, if there are any readers, get the Stand By Me/Shaun of the Dead entry today. Yes, yes, I know, that is a very odd combination to put together in a blog, but that is a choice that I chose to make. OK, I am going to start off this blog talking about Stand By Me.
Stand By Me was the movie based in Stephen King's novel of the same name. The movie was directed by Rob Riener (who you all may know as Michael Stivic aka "Meathead" from All in the Family). This movie was released in 1986, when I was a young lad of four years old. This movie takes place in the fictious city of Castle Rock, Oregon. The main characters in the movie are: Gordie Lachance (Wil Wheaton), Teddy Duchamp (Corey Feldman), Chris Chambers (River Phenoix), and Vern Tessio (Jerry O'Connell). During the movie we hear a voice-over from the character known as "The Writer," played by Richard Dryfuss (who is the grown-up Gordy), to help us tell the story.
The story start by us hearing in a voice-over that says "I was twelve going on thirteen the first time I saw a dead body." A few minutes late we see Gordy, Teddy and Chris in the tree house that they always hung out in. As they are playing cards, we hear someone knock on the tree house door, and the person gets told "that's not the secret knock!" Then we hear in response: "I forget the secret knock!" Then the other kids look at each other and say "VERN!"
Soon after entering the tree house Vern (O'Connell) asks the guys "hey you guys wanna see a dead body?" But before Vern can even get that out the other guys keep singing "I ran all the way home!" So he tells them that he heard his brother Billy and Charlie Hogan talking about the dead kid Ray Brower who got hit by a train on the back Harlow Roads. So they can go find the dead body of Ray Brower, Teddy, Vern, Chris, and Gordie come up with a plan so they don't get in trouble.
They set out to find the body, but what they don't know is that Billy Tessio, Vern's borther, and Charlie Hogan, had told the rest of their friends Ace (Kiefer Sutherland), and Eyeball Chambers (Chris' brother) about the body. Then they tell everyone. So by the end of the movie there is a stand-off for the body, but neither group takes it and they make an anonomuys phone call saying the body. So on a scale of 1-10 I give this movie a 9 1/2.
Now ladies and gerbils on to the Shaun of the Dead Blog. That's right I said Shaun of the Dead. It was the movie written by Simon Pegg, amd Edgar Wright. It takes place in England. It is a horror, comedy, love story rolled in to one movie. Shaun of the Dead came out in 2002. This is a very funny movie.
The main characters in the movie are Shaun, Ed, Liz, David, Mum, and Philip. Their jobs are to stay alive while the Zombie attack is going on around them in London. The thing you have to remember is if you get bitten you turn in to a zombie, and to kill a zombie, you must destroy the head and brain.
Through out the movie you hear repeated lines that get you to laugh. Som of those lines are: "You've got some red on you," and "Big Al says that dogs can't look up!," and "Who the hell put this on? It's on Random!"on a scale of 1-10 I give this an 8 8/9 stars

More on Now You Know

Now You Know was a very interesting movie movie written, directed, and produced by Jeff Anderson (Randall of Clerks I and Clerks II fame). This story is about a guy named Jeremy, played by Jeremy Sisto, who is about to get married to a girl named Kerri, played by Rashida Jones. We soon find out that their wedding is called off. The reason why, nobody knows; which is what we find out at the end of the movie. Yeah, like I'm going to tell you what that is. In the process this movie is really two stories in one. The first story is about Jeremy and Kerri, and the second story is about them and their friends, Marty (Heather Page Kent), Gil (Anderson), and Biscuit (Trevor Fehrman).
Marty is Kerri's best friend, whom we find out is pregnant, with Gil's child. This comes into play in the movie, but I am not telling you where.
Gil and Biscuit, are Jeremy's two best friends. Of course, they are the slackers of the binch. They "own" and "run" a laen-mowing business. Ninty-nine percent of the time they are drunk before noon. This is one thing that makes GIl and Biscuit work!
All in all, this was a very good movie. The writing and directing were very well done. Jeff Anderson did a very good job, considering it was his first directing job. On a scale of 1-10, I give this movie a 8. To some up this movie in the words of Jeff Anderson, "this movie is 'bisexual,' there is something for the guy, and something for the girls!" I just have to say after reading this you'll be "beating off guys with a hammer" to see it.

Now You Know

Pretty soon, meaning in the next day or two, I will be posting my blog review about the Jeff Anderson (Randall of Clerks and Clerks II fame) movie Now You Know. I will give the review of what I thought, the characters, the dialouge, and anything that has to deal with this movie. This is hopefully going to be a good movie, coming from the man who is trying to shed the "Randall" image. Again the post will be up in a couple of days. Ihope you will enjoy the blog as much as I will enjoy this movie

Man on the Moon part 2

Man on the Moon, the bio-pic about the life of Andy Kaufman, was an awesome movie. This told how Andy Kaufman did things in his life. It is an interesting movie, for any one who is a fan of Jim Carrey, or Andy Kaufman. I am not giving anything away, but it was a good movie 8 out of 10

1st blog post of 2007

One Dvd that I am going to give you a review of is the Brian Pillman Loose Cannon DVD. This talked about the life and times of former pro-wrestler "Fyin'" Brian Pillman. I am putting up the review of this, because I found it to be very interesting on how his life turned out from the times. One thing that I found interesting, which is also kind of sad, is that Pillman had to have 36 different throat opperations as a child. He was one of the greatest lightheavyweight wrestlers around of all time. Pillman revolutionized things like top rope manuevers, hurricanrannas, and all that other good stuff.

Vulgar

Vulgar is the is the directoring debut of View Askew member Bryan "Big" Johnson. The star of this movie is Brian C. O'Halloran (Dante of Clerks Fame), Ethan Suplee, and Brian "Big" Johnson. It is a movie about this one man named Will Carlson, who does kiddie birthday parties, known as Flappy. After seeing an article in the newspaper, Will or "Flappy," whichever you choose, decides to become the joke entertainment at bacholer parties. The deal is that is when he becomes Vulgar the clown, he would dress in womens clothing. Will gets a call about a party which is taking place in an apartment (which is apart 37), and gets raped, and pistol whipped by the mad Ed and his two sons. Will tells his friend Syd (played by "Big"), what had happened. At first they don't do anything. A year later Will gets his own TV show, Flappy's Fun House. Then, one night he gets a phone call, and it's Ed who is trying to blackmail him. For those of you who haven't seen it, I am going to leave it there. so, out of ten stars this 8 1/2.

Cars Blog 2

Cars one of the newest movies created by the employees of Disney and Pixar was a great movie. I found it to be very enjoyable. It was a great movie that teaches us a lesson. It teaches us that everyone makes mistakes and gets into trouble but we will always find a way out. It also teaches me that friends are going to be there for us, even the new ones we meet along the way. Out of 10 stars it gets an 8!

Cars

The movie I am currently watching is the Disney/Pixar collaberation Cars. Right now this movie is very interesting. Instead of using people to tell the story, cars are used. Right now to me it comes across as the "I'm the best" type story. Cars is very well done, when I finish the post I'll let you know what I thought of the full movie.

Serpico blog 2

Just finished watching the movie Serpico the other day. I just have to saythat it was a very interesting movie Starring Al Pacino as Frank Serpico. This movie was based on a true story. It was a story about how one cop named Frank Serpicowho fought to end corruption in the NYPD. It didn't make Frank a lot of fans, but he did it any way.
Even though things didn't work out for Frank Serpico, he did what he could to bring to the attention of the public. I won't tell you the ending of the story, but just to let you know this is a very interesting story. One thing that I will tell you is that the Real Frank Serpico had moved to Europe.

The next movie I will put up a review for is Serpico, starring Al Pacino. Here is the background on the movie. This movie is the true story, based on former New York police officer Frank Serpico. The movie tells us about how Frank Serpico tried to clean up the corruptness of the police department that he worked in. After I finish watching the movie I will give you a review on what I thought of it.

The Matrix

The Matrix is a movie that I can not seriously like.The reason why I do not like it is because it is too hyped up with special effect. Also, how can I take Laurence Fishburn seriously? The reason why I can't is because of his past role of Cowboy Curtis on Pee-wee's playhouse

Saw III

Tonight was the opening of Saw 3. I believe this one of the best movies of 2006. Saw 3 was filled with major excitement. It had way more twists and turns than the Saw and Saw 2 put together. It was pure excitement from start to finish. One word and one word only can describe this movie AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! This movie made me leave the Miday with a smile on my face. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 10

Saw III

Tomorrow, if I am lucky enough, I am going to see Saw 3. I hope that it will be a good movie considering the first two were awesome. I am very anxious to see this movie. It was one of the two movies that I was waiting to see this year (see Clerks 2 blogs). It will be a good movie and you will get my reviews

This is one of the greatest movies ever made. Why? Which is probably what you asked yourself. Because it has to deal with Family Guy. This is one of those mpvoes that is controversial, but it is funny as all hell!!! Everyone should see this movie. It's great!!!!!!!!!

Jurasic Park

Today for one of my film class at school we wound up watching Jurassic Park which was directed by Steven Speilberg. I just wanted to say that it was about 12 or 13 years after I had origanally seen it, but it was very boring. I mean yeah it was good when I was 12. Other than that it was a complete and total snooze fest. Jurassic Park was just as good as a root canal. So that is what I have to say about that. Oh yeah I enjoyed E.T. more

Star Wars (original theatrical Release)

Today for my film class that I had at school, I saw the original Theatrical release of the George Lucas film Star Wars. Let me tell you this guys, its way different from what we see today on the re-releases. It was very interesting to see how different everything looked. I mean the first thing there was no Jabba the Hutt. It was a person who was there and he was digitally replaced. Thats what made it interesting; that and many of the other changes. If you can find it, try and see it!!!!!!!!!!!

Bladerunner

Don't get me wrong I love Harrison Ford as much as the next guy, but his movie Bladerunner was horrible. It is amoungst the worst movie that I have ever seen. It is so crappy it made me wanna throw up. It made me wanna throw up worst than the stench coming off a bum on the train.

On a scale of 1-10 it gets a half a star, hell a sixteenth of a star.

bad remakes and overratedness

Many or should I say that 99.9% of all remakes made today are really, really bad. It just doesn't seem right that these bad movies are made in todays world of movies. It's a waste of time to get people to see a movie that their grandparents or their parents saw, and told them about, but since they didn't believe that it was a real movie they went out and wasted their $10 on a movie that you could see was crappy just from the trailers. Again remakes are really bad!! I don't know how many times I'm gonna say this.
After I give my little speech about the most overrated movie of all time Scarface starring Al Pacino as Tony Montana, I'll Get back to the bad remakes. As I bring up that Scarface is an overrated movie, which it is, it's also a remake of a 1932 movie of the same. Going back to this being overrated, one line: "My name is Tony Montana!"
Ok, now back to the bad remakes. Again, there are a lot of them. You may not want to believe it, but let me tell you this, it's true!!!!!!!!!!

The Day The Earth Stood Still

The last movie that I watched was the classic movie The Day The Earth Stood Still from 1951. It was a classic movie about a day when aliens "took" over the earth. While this happened one of the "aliens" on the space ship got shot and had to be taken care of. This movie is classic because it was one of the first sci-fi movies of the early 1950s. It made you think while you were watching it. This movie is great to watch when you have nothing to do.
This movie is very very well done for its time. Out of ten possible stars, I give it an eight!

Talladega Nights: THe Ballad of Ricky Bobby

Yesterday, I saw The ballad of Ricky Bobby, starringWill Ferrell. It was an ok movie and it had it's moments that had gotten me to laugh while I was watching at the Midway theater on Austin Street. It was the 4:10, which I didnt mind, because I had things to do.
I mean don't get me wrong, I've seen movies Starring Senor Ferrell, but this was not his best. The one thing that got me to laugh was whenever he said grace he always prayed to the baby Jesus, and not to the teenage or adult Jesus. Why? Because we can pray to what ever Jesus we like.
Out of 10 stars this gets a 5

Reservoir Dogs

First off sorry for the delay on the post. Here it is, it is for Reservoir Dogs written and directed by Quinten Tarentino.This movie was released in 1992, and starred Harvey Ketiel, Steve Buscemi, MIcheal Maddsen, and Tim Roth. They are four of the jewel thieves, who have to pull off a jewl heist in broad day-light. Everything haoppens to go wrong, MR. Orange gets shot in the gut and is bleeding to death, and the crooks find out that they were set up by a cop but don't know who it is. The thing one of them is a copa nd they dont know know who it is. I leave this up to you to figure out.
