I'd say that about 99% of the time when people go to the movies, they don't go to see a movie about pocket billards, or "pool" as the cool kids call it.
Well that's what the story of Poolhall Junkies is all about. Well, it's actually about the under world of gambling on pool.
The story is told through the eyes of pool player Johnny Doyle (Mars Callahan). He tells his story starting from when he was fifteen years old, and how he was good enough to be the 51st player on a 50 player tour. The only thing stopping Johnny is his backer (the person who puts up his money), Joe (Chaz Palmentari).
As the film moves on we find out that Joe, threw out Johnny's invite from Toupee Jay. Toupee Jay was told by Joe, that Johnny had to finish school, and get an education. In a way, Johnny knew that Joe was holding him back. Johnny got back at him, when he was playing against Chico.
Now, I'm not going to tell you what happens in the rest of the movie. You have to find that out for yourself so go see this movie. on a scale of 1-10 i say 9 1/2
